| Hi. Some of you may know me, most probably don't. I've played with/against some of you over the years. For those that are interested, I'm considerably older than the average player age. I've played this game since about 1990 so I've watched it evolve over the years, from 100% manual to the scripts and speed that things can be done at today. I haven't played the game continuously since then of course, I've had to 'take a break' from it lasting years sometimes. I was just getting back into it in a 'minor' way when I was asked to sign up to BG3 so it's no longer minor :( I probably spend way too much time thinking on the game but that's another matter.
In regard to BG3 in its current state, I don't know alot about the circumstances or the personalities involved but I offer this as food for thought;
TW is a game. As such, people compete by trading/war. Like any competion, people look for an edge through what ever means possible at times. This can be seen in other competions as well such as steroid use in athletes or an oversized piston on a NASCAR engine etc. There are rules that are measurable and enforceable. Unfortunately, no such measurable and enforceable rules exist for TW. It now becomes a question of honor.
BG3 started fine. Then an incident happens. Everyone freaks out and starts taking drastic measures, from insinuations, to name calling, to CBY and then locking the game. Does this mean that this is the first time that a game has been altered due to an incident of some discription??? Give me a break. EVERY game has something go wrong either percieved or in reality.
I humbly suggest that let's tone down the rhetoric and once the game reopens let it go until there is a conclusion. Just play it out. Those that are thinking of hanging it up, maybe that's the right thing to do, but save it until this game is concluded. Don't let your team mates down or the rest of the people that signed up for the challenge. You can 'take a break' after.
